Let it rain

I can't control the weather, but when you live in a place that has a lot of rain, there is something I can do. Accessorize! My new umbrella is a cute addition to an otherwise dreary day.

Now how do I prepare for dense fog?

4 More things I'm thankful for....

This week as I got ready for work (and the job I thanked God for on Monday) I had a thankful heart for a hot shower. Next I sipped my delicious coffee, connected with friends and family on my computer and admired my latest thrift store find. It is a ceramic horse with a clay inside. He is very heavy, about 12 inches long, and as far as I could tell worth about 45.00 on EBay.

I have a thankful heart, and its Saturday to boot!

Thankful for all things....

This saying is on the wall over my fireplace. It is my new years resolution. My daughter is blogging a picture everyday for the year, and I thought "why not blog, what I am thankful for". I have found my spirit lifted every time I consciously thank God for all the "little" things that am blessed with. So far, this year I have thanked God for my family, my hands, scissors, reading glasses, my job (yes I have)a full refrigerator, a garage, my husband, a washer and dryer, electricity, trouble free -payment free car, stickers, cell phones, freedom, hot coffee, Clementines smile, sunshine, new socks, fat free fudgsicles. 20 things in 20 days, If I ever wonder what I am thankful for, I imagine life with out it, and then I know.

Can't wait to start ironing

Today I found a cute little vintage metal ironing board, in perfect shape for a few dollars at the thrift store. I just had to bring it home. It's funny how anything in miniature is just too tempting for me to pass up. A full size ironing board just translates to me all the work I need to finish, but oh how sweet to see it pint size. Maybe because the clothes are tiny too?

Frame what you love

This post is dedicated to my fan base in Greenville. You know who you are. One more crafty idea rolling around in my head. I took an old frame from the thrift store and strung 19 gauge wire across. I bought miniature clothes pins from the craft store and stained them dark brown. While I was printing out my pictures, I ran out of black ink, but I think the idea comes across. The whole project cost under 3 dollars! I think it looks best to have an odd number of wires, and pictures.
So for all you crafty people, give it a try and make it your own!

Body, Soul, and Spirit....

Body-A new year, and I am treating my body to a new work out, I think I can handle 30 minutes a day.

Soul- A new journal, and the one year bible, I think I can handle 30 minutes a day

Spirit - A new year with my family, it lifts my spirit. A new calendar from a coworker, she gave it to me, just because I said the picture made me happy.

Looking for good things from God each day, and he gives me so many things to choose from!

Walkin' on into 2009!

This week end commemorates the 1 year anniversary of our move to a new town. I thought by this time I would have a lot of friends, bought our house and a job with my former employer.

Instead I have a lot to be thankful for, answered prayer in whole new way.

I have gained strength in a job God chose for me, success in loving those who don't have the same interests as me.

I have gained compassion for others that feel lonely when they have move from friends and family.

I have gained appreciation for my husbands job, and the church family.

I am excited to see what steps God has in store for me in 2009. I hold His hand and He helps me press on, Prayer answered in a surprising way!
