Visiting my heart

We drove down south and visited the grand baby. She was the center of our attention the whole time. We bought things for her , talked about her, watched her, planned for her future birthday , kissed her , sang to her, smiled at her, protected her from harm. What got my attention was how she was oblivious to all this. She ignored a lot of what was going on. It made me think of how God watches us as his children , wanting the best for us , and most of all to visit our heart. It made me feel his love. What a wonderful Valentines Day.

Heart to Heart

I love anything that is heart shaped and simple. This collection of heart shaped rocks started as a simple walk on the beach with my neice and nephew in Bandon, OR. My nephew was "helping me" at the age of 4, pick up treasures that washed in. He ran ahead of me, then yelled out "I found one that looks like a heart!" , and sure enough it did! I kept it, to remember the heart warming time we'd had together on the beach. A few months later, on a different beach, I wasn't even looking for another rock, and there at my feet, it seemed to scream out to me to pick it up. Yep, another heart shaped rock, another wonderful walk on the beach with someone else I love. Have a heart today, look for the unexpected in the ordinary! God has those special treasues at our feet, it just takes looking at the world through a child's eyes.

Words

Today was a good day. The difference between today and other days, was this, I got to use my words. People at work asked me questions, and the dialogue was like a soloist getting to sing with a huge choir. I am a talker, that is how God designed me and today my soul was satisfied. I just need to let him reign in the words when I get carried away, I need to follow His melody.

Tiny

Its funny how much more heart warming anything tiny is. Imagine a normal size item, then imagine it tiny. See the difference? A leaf, a doll, a cupcake, a bird egg, a spoon, even yourself !

See, doesn't it just make you smile?

Innocent eyes......

Oh the joy of discovering the world through a babies eyes. Grass is slick, and green, and skinny. It can be rolled on, and spring back up. It is soft, yet a little poky. Beautiful innocence, when we become like a child we inherit the kingdom of God. We see life in a new way. Open up your heart to the Father, let him bring newness, to the sameness of the day. The grass is greener on the other side.

oh monday...

Today was a "Monday". Some days living so far away from friends and family can be very lonely, and today was just one of those days. My calender at my desk at work was encouraging, but I just wanted to get out of the dull drums. When I got home, I took the dog for a walk, and was thankful for the clear, crisp weather. When I went into the spare room to put laundry away I looked up and there was "Puff". Now, whats not to like about a cute little kitten. AWE....

It made me smile. Thank you "puff", you cute little thing you :) Much easier to take care of then the real thing, and she always stays little.
